We find value in articulating a new relationship between artist and viewer – one which challenges the role of the artist as leader and architect of meaning in society, infusing, inspiring, reappropriating and revitalizes urban environments through contemporary art and community building, inviting the viewer to engage in a meaningful exchange. Our vision is to introduce HomeBase as a new model, a contemporary innovative upgrade to the community center model, addressing essential cultural, social and educational needs of urban communities around the globe; We strive to:
- Connecting art to everyday living - utilizing vacant urban spaces in changing, underserved neighborhoods for site-specific and community based arts and education, dealing with the subject of home as the foundation of society.
- Enriching communities - creating temporary cultural homes for artists and for the public, empowering communities and individuals through arts and education
- Artistic impact on urban change - cultivating solutions for meaningful and sustainable urban living, developing services, products, communal gathering places and gardens which awaken a consciousness of care
- Cultivating cross cultural dialog, interconnectedness and solidarity – HomeBase as a social sculpture, home as a window into the other, human rights as our core.
